BUYING GUIDE
Five things degrade cannabis and infusions: light, heat, oxygen, humidity and time. Storage is the cheapest quality gain available, because every one of those except time is under your control for the price of a jar.
What each one does
| Enemy | What it does | What to buy or do |
|---|---|---|
| Light | UV drives cannabinoid breakdown, fastest of the five | Opaque, amber or violet glass, or a clear jar kept in a closed cupboard |
| Zahřejte | Speeds every other reaction and drives off terpenes | A cool cupboard. Not above the oven, not on a windowsill |
| Oxygen | Oxidises THC toward CBN, which is why old flower reads as sedating | An airtight seal. A gasket lid beats a screw cap, and a jar filled near the top holds less air |
| Humidity | Too damp grows mould, too dry destroys trichomes and taste | A two-way humidity pack at 58 to 62 percent for flower. Not needed for oil |
| Čas | Cannot be stopped, only slowed | Label everything with the date it was made. This is the step people skip |
Glass over plastic, and why it is not fussiness
Cannabis oil is a solvent for a lot of plastics, and infused fat sitting in a soft container will pick up what it dissolves. Glass is inert, cleans properly and does not hold smell between batches. Borosilicate handles temperature change without cracking, which matters if you are pouring warm oil straight in. Stainless steel is a reasonable second choice for flower and a poor one for oil, because you cannot see what is happening.
Storing infusions specifically
Infused oil and butter go in airtight glass in the fridge, and they keep roughly as long as the fat itself would. Freezing extends that and does no harm to the cannabinoids; decant into portions first, because repeated thawing is what actually spoils it. Label every jar with three things: what it is, the date, and the dose per millilitre from your potency calculation. An unlabelled jar of infused oil is either wasted or dangerous, and usually the first.
Where the NOIDS Herb Lab fits
The NOIDS Herb Lab glass is 350 ml borosilicate with scale marks, so a finished batch can rest in the vessel it was made in while it cools, and the marks tell you the volume you are about to divide the dose across. The glass and the filter set are dishwasher safe, which is the part that decides whether a piece of kit stays in use. It is a working vessel rather than a storage jar: decant into a labelled jar for the fridge.
