Alpha-Bisabolol

Alpha-bisabolol is the gentle, sweet-floral terpene borrowed from chamomile. Also called levomenol, alpha-bisabolol is soft, sweet and slightly floral, the aroma of chamomile. It is a minor cannabis terpene best known from skincare, where it is prized for soothing properties.

Alpha-bisabolol is delicate and sweet, floral with a faint nutty warmth. It is subtle in cannabis and adds a soft, calming edge to a chemovar’s aroma.

What research suggests

Bisabolol is studied for anti-inflammatory, skin-soothing, antimicrobial and wound-healing properties, which is why it is common in cosmetics. Cannabis-specific evidence is limited, and most data comes from its use as a chamomile-derived skincare ingredient.

Where else it is found

Its main natural source is German chamomile, and it also occurs in the candeia tree. It appears widely in lotions and skin products.
